Who we are
Kaiser Vallejo is the proud birthplace of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF). Originally developed in the late 1940’s by Dr. Herman Kabat and physical therapist Maggie Knott, the PNF concept has continued to evolve and is now taught internationally.
As part of the International PNF Association (IPNFA), the PNF program at Kaiser Vallejo has trained more than 5,000 physical therapists and students from over 44 U.S. states and 50 countries. The 2026 AGM marks a meaningful milestone, celebrating 36 years of the IPNFA and 80 years since the development of the PNF concept.
